2016~8

This week started off with a cold and a round of pink eye for Mav.  Poor little guy but having goopy swollen eyes actually make him look more normal instead of his crazy cross eyes.
We spent a lot of time cuddling on the couch, eating goldfish, and watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
When Mav wasn't sleeping he was really into playing catch, which led to his newest nickname of Smalls.  When ever I'd throw him the ball, he would grab it and then carry it over to me, put it in my hand, and then crawl back and resume his catching position.  Baby Sandlot going on at our house.
Huntley tried out for the school play.
And then spent the next day home sick.  Luckily a package arrived from Ma and Pa and we had fun building houses and cars for our new ponies.
Mav's really into helping do the dishes.  He hands me everything from the bottom shelf and claps for himself after each item.  To finish the job off he climbs in and does a victory dance.
Some of our friends are moving next week so we threw them a going away party at the bowling alley on Friday.  8 adults and 12 kids was a little too much and by the time I took this pictures major meltdowns were happening and it was such a disaster it was hilarious.
I had dreams of taking one last picture of all the little friends together at the end but half of them were already in time out in their cars.
 Saturday was Huntley's acting debut.
She was such a cute little cloud.
Don't let her face fool you, she actually really did have fun.  The picture made me laugh though because in all honesty I made her do the whole thing.  If it was up to her she'd sit at home all the time and I'm a mean mom who forces her to get out and try new things.
Third cloud from the right, which is almost as good as second star to the right :)
And Mav finally decided he'd had it with sitting still in the bumbo and now crawls out whenever we stick him in it.  I knew we'd been pushing our luck for the past 5 months with that but it was nice while it lasted.

2016~7

In this weeks adventures in tidying we discovered Pais can squeeze into Mav's clothes and insists this is next year's Halloween costume.
Wednesday we went to books and babies at the library and hooray the computer was gone and iPads took it's place.  I'm not sure who was more excited, the kids or the moms.
Mav was pretty excited about an abundance of block towers to knock over.  Why they have blocks to play with in a library is beyond me.
We got to babysit and of course I went to my go to of baking for entertainment.
Next we taught our friends how to mop the floor.  Yes I'm lame but they seriously loved it.
Huntley didn't have school on Friday and we spent the day doing arts and crafts.  The water color initial paintings were a hit.
Maverick's favorite thing to do lately is pull out every single thing in every single cupboard and climb inside.
We've resorted to bribery in trying to get Pais to not wet the bed.  She made it 10 days and got her shopkins blind bag.  (My kids are weird and could watch some crazy youtube channel of a lady opening these toys all day long.)
Saturday Mav woke up extra happy and giggly and I just had to throw in a picture of this crazy little boy.
And last but not least the girls are obsessed with playing hide'n'go seek in the dark every night.  It's seriously the creepiest thing and we all hate being the one to count but we keep playing anyways.  Chris won the award for best hiding spot and then couldn't get out.  So. Stinking. Funny.

2016~6

When your week starts out with views like this you know it's going to be good.
Mav and Maze have become quite the pair.
Wednesday we had a Valentines dinner at church.  The adults had prime rib in one room and the kids had pigs in a blanket in another.  It was pretty fun and we even got to take decorations home. (to add to the pumpkins)
Our weather has been amazingly warm.  Thursday we went out for a walk and said hello to all the animals we haven't seen since November.
 Hi Goose!
 Hi Hank! Hi Rookie!
And Hi Mav who was pretty enthralled with the very uncooperative in the picture taking department Iceman.
These two have been pretty obsessed with the newest Land Before Time (I swear there will still be new Land Before Time's when my kids have kids) and every spare minute they are cuddling with the iPad watching it.
Our besties Jackson and Shelby are finally back from California and came to play on Saturday.  We introduced them to FunDip and I'm sure their mom loves me know.

That night we went to the high school basketball game and in order to keep Mav entertained I've got a million pictures like this.
Today I got to spend some time cuddling my littlest Valentine.
We also decorated cookies and took them to our friends.  And we may have ate a few.
Happy Valentines Day!!!

2016~5

A day late due to a late night from the superbowl and a baby who got their second wind and was crawling in really fast circles around the house. He. Was. Nuts.  But here we go:

To start off the week I thought I'd take a picture of our nightly ritual.  One of us reads to these two yay-who's,
While the other adult listens to Huntley read.
Which can be summed up like this:
It's not this bad anymore but I seriously cried from laughing when I saw this.

In other news, January was a really, really, really, long month.  Chris get's paid once a month with his new job so I've only been doing one big grocery shopping trip and this month was ugly.  How ugly, well this is what we had to eat towards the end:
Yes, that's right, we have condiments.
A trip to Bozeman was a must this week.  Mav wasn't too thrilled about sharing the cart with all of the groceries.  Luckily Smith's had all sorts of things to entertain Pais with so he had the cart to himself there and wasn't so grumpy.
Here's two little girls who are so overjoyed to have some variety in their life again.
These two have discovered they have a symbiotic relationship.  Beneficial for Mav so he only eats the things he wants and beneficial for Maze who gets fed.  I guess I can't complain though because at least Maze semi-cleans up the floor in the process.
Maverick had his one year checkup where it was confirmed that he does have a large head.  Our dr's office also now gives out refreshments.

I read the book "The Magic Art of Tidying" last month and have slowly been making my way through the house.  Saturday was all about the toys, ugh.  I think the girls just played the whole time while I worked.  Their room does look pretty dang good now though but I didn't take a picture of that, only Mav's.

 Mav conquered the stairs.
Hunt has to bring a valentines box to school this year.  At first I turned to pinterest and had visions of amazingness but then decided it was me we were talking about and gave up on that idea.  So instead I covered a shoebox with pink paper, gave Hunt the Costco jar of art supplies and let her go to town while I tried to keep Mav from eating glue, pom poms, feathers, etc.

Yes we are making pumpkins a year round thing.

Last but not least the reason for our one day delay, the Superbowl.  We joined some friends for a party where Hunt was completely entertained by letting a lizard crawl all over her.  She thought it was hilarious and now wants a lizard.  No this will not be the next pet on our funny farm!
