due to a dead iphone and the end of life as I knew it. Last Thursday I took a million pictures on the joys of making applesauce and was all prepared to right a novel on that wonderful subject but that was obviously a bad idea. I was babysitting for a friend and during the process Paisley dumped a bottle on the floor and then placed my phone in the puddle. Not so good. Rice didn't do the trick so I'm using my sisters phone until my upgrade in two weeks. At least she timed it handy and I can get my same phone for free. Thank you iphone 5.
Now I've had to learn to live life with out my other appendage and Paisley had her first pictures taken on an actual camera. How did she live a year without that happening!
Last week in a nutshell:
Friday: Driving around trying to figure out phone issues and dealing with stress by going to Dipidee.
Saturday: yard saleing in the morning for canning jars but ended up with four new chairs instead.
Sunday: Church without my kids, heavenly
Monday: Chris came home with flowers-yay!!! Greeted by a puking wife-not so yay :(
Tuesday: Couch and movie day which was actually really nice
Wednesday: Chris and I went on a date. It may have just been mini golf and J Dawgs but it was nice!
Thursday: Chris's turn being sick so more canning for me.
Friday: Chris off to Idaho and the girls and I counting down the last 6 weeks of the season.

Entertainment
Tonight I got to talk to Chris. It's been awhile since I've been lucky enough to hear his voice and even though he hasn't been able to talk to us he still is able to keep tabs on us from the comfort of his sleeping bag. Unfortunately I've not given much for him to keep tabs on but when we are doing nothing but canning I don't really take a whole lot of pictures. On the plus side life is so boring for the girlies last weeks trip to the grocery store was a treat. Especially when Hunt pretended to ride in the toys. No I didn't put money in it and she still loved it, that's how boring life has been. So stay tuned for tomorrow, an exciting post on the joys of canning applesauce.

Paisley's Pears
Life has been dull lately. Possibly due to the fact it's been limited to the kitchen except for a quick lunch date yesterday and an unsuccessful search all over Utah County for a canner. Luckily I have cute help.

Auntie Vivian
Huntley has a favorite auntie, "auntie Bibian." She carries on imaginary conversations with her all the time that are pretty entertaining. All of these conversations revolve around Tuillie, Vivian's dog and we all know the way to Huntley's heart is by letting her play, aka torture, your dog. Over the past week we've gotten two boxes in the mail from Auntie Vivian. It made the girls day and now we have our own little Tuillie at our house. Luckily this one isn't real. I'm really over real dogs. The real dogs ate seven spagetti squash and a pumpkin today. Fake is definitely the way to go.

Paisley Irene {1}
I've gotten to this day with both my girls and thought, really it's already been a year, how did that happen. I have loved celebrating Huntley's birthday the past week and watching her excitement but there is something about that first birthday that is just different and special. All day long I've been able to reflect on a year ago last year and everything that happened that day. It still feels like yesterday and I hope I never forget all the feelings, emotions, and experiences of that day. Our family took on a completely new dynamic and it was definitely a good change for us.
Paisley is our happy go lucky sweet child but the past few days she has developed a little bit of an attitude. She discovered her voice and has been squawking at me constantly. Luckily today she woke up with a big smile and was her normal little self all day long. We had waffles with whip cream for breakfast, lunch with Ma, lots of visitors to give her wishes, a hike with the dogs to pick sunflowers, and a surprise cake and balloons. You can bet after the past week and a half she knows what cake is and exactly what to do with it. I think both my girls will be disappointed tomorrow after dinner when there isn't any cake, candles, and songs.
Happy Birthday Paisley!

Play Dates
I had a knock on my door today. It was one of Huntley's friends wanting her to come play. I was all for having some free time so of course I said yes and off she went. Cutest thing ever.

Birthday Weekend
Chris's last two day tour ended this weekend. Perfectly in between two girls birthdays. We partied hard all weekend. It was fun and I'm still recovering from all of it. Plus having to recover from a day readjusting back to life without him. I hate those days. Therefore I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves and hit the sack.

The Wheels on the Bus
Today was Huntley's very first field trip! We got to ride the school bus and both girls thought this was the coolest thing ever. We rode to the school and then the bus depot where all the buses sleep. Last but not least we got to ride in the bus through the giant car wash. It was awesome, seriously.
Huntley loved it and has been talking about it nonstop. Although now that I'm looking at the pictures her face sure tells another story.

Huntley Madison {4}
Huntley had a birthday and we shouted hooray!
Actually we didn't do much since Chris is gone but just singing to her over and over made her day. We also did her yearly birthday questions and for the most part I was dead on with her answers of her favorites being pink, cereal, and watering flowers. She did surprise me be saying her favorite animal was a horse but other than that she is pretty predictable.
Happy Birthday Huntley!

Dinner Time
One of the benefits of having Chris gone is I have all of the power. I get to decide what we do, what we wear, what we eat, etc. etc. etc. I can make whatever I please for dinner, when I have the desire to make dinner. I don't actually make real food very often because I can serve waffles for dinner three nights in a row and be rewarded with cheers from Huntley every night.
Tonight I decided I was going to make one of my favs, tatertot casserole. Hunt was really in to helping me make it and sat at the oven the whole time watching it cook. She was bouncing with excitement at the table waiting for her plate and I was excited too because if it's two against one than I can actually make it during the winter when I'm in the mood for casseroles. I really don't like them in the summer and would much rather eat them on a cold day.
Anyways the time finally came for us to eat and I happily dished Huntley some food. She took one look at it and yelled out quite enthusiastically "yuck!!!".
Yep, I'll now be serving waffles three days a week again.
