2016~4

To start this week off, Huntley didn't have school on Monday.  I don't know why she was off this week instead of last week when it was an actual holiday, but whatever.  It also worked in our favor because since it was a weird day off we got to have friends over while their mom worked.  We discovered that we have no boy toys.
In order to put the boys out of their misery of playing princess dress up we decorated cupcakes and made valentines.  It was the best I could do.
Tuesday was the best/worst day for this momma.  Our little buddy turned 1!!!!  We spent the day coloring, playing with his toys, reading books, dancing, going to lunch at Nacho Mammas and watching him flirt with all of the ladies.  I love how much Mav has changed our family for the better but sure wish he would slow down this growing up stuff.
I also attempted another cake.  I knew it was a success when Hunt got home from school and said "Why does Maverick's cake say Mav-e"  At least it resembles a cake which is more than I can say for the excuse I presented Paisley with.
Mav was just content to sit and eat graham crackers with frosting while I kept trying to fix it so at least he was happy.
When Chris got home from work we let Mav open, aka watch his sisters open, his presents.
And then on to the main event:
 Wait
 For
 It
This is the face you make when you touch your candle instead of blowing it out.
And this is the face you make when everyone keeps telling you to eat your cake and you're like, no way that thing just tried to get me.
And this is the face you make when you decide to heck with it I'm just diving in.
Except the poor kid was a little inexperienced and ate a big ol hunk of wax instead and then wondered what all the fuss was about.
Luckily little man figured things out.

The next day the birthday fun continued on in the form of an awesome train table from Nini.  Mav's favorite way to play with it is to let his sisters get it all set up and then go king kong on it.  He thinks he's pretty dang funny.
Thursday the two little's were feeling a little let down after all of the excitement the past few days so we pulled out the pool and made some cloud dough.  It was a big hit, even with Maze who was on clean up crew and then spent the next hour trying to get the paste it made on her tongue off.
Friday was no school again.  This time was due to perks of small school living and the state debate tournament being held at our school.  Since it's on the smaller side they needed all of the elementary classrooms too and the younger kids got the day off.  The Hansen boys got to come play again and luckily this time we were able to entertain them in the form of a snow drift.
Saturday I had to work and Mav must like waking up to Chris more than me.
After I got off Chris was itching to get out of the house and went off in chase of the elusive wolf.  They are still elusive but at least this time he saw fresh tracks.
And since we haven't had enough friends over this week we had the Chandler girls come over too.  This time the dress ups were a little more appropriate.
