Copycat Post

Not a whole lot has been going on lately other than enjoying the warm weather. So since I saw Amber's post on things to look forward to I had to do the same. We are starting summer off with a bang and I can't wait for the next few weeks.

Huntlely and I get to fly out to Monterey for a week and I'm so excited!!! Wish me luck on the flight all alone with an 8 month old, I feel so brave.

To D.I. or not to D.I.

Spring cleaning has arrived. I love going through my house and getting rid of all of the junk that I have accumulated. Yesterday Chris had the day off and we were both feeling ambicious so we decided to tackle our spare bedroom. As we are going through stuff I found a pair of shorts that Chris has had for as long as I've known him. They are a really nice pair of shorts, apparently really expensive, but here's the catch. How many times have I seen him wear these shorts-not once! Without even thinking I immediately put them in the D.I. pile and then we had the following conversation:

Chris (with much feeling): What are you doing those shorts are expensive!!!
Jess: Good someone will like them.
Chris: You can't give those away they were expensive!!!
Jess: You've never worn these shorts in 6 years I'm giving them away.

At this point Chris immediately puts the shorts on, wears them the rest of the day, and comments numerous times on how great they are.

So now the hard part. Will he ever wear these shorts again since they are his favorite? Do I put them back in the drawer or do I secretly give them away to the D.I.?

Now that Huntley is getting older she is using Penelope for more than a pillow these days. Hold on tight little lady!

I Spoke too Soon

Well the whole sleeping through the night was a one time deal. Last night we were back to every few hours again, she just must miss me too much. I guess I can't complain because who could be mad at this little cutie and the fact that she made me a mother. I love you Huntley!!!

Ahhhhhh... (this is a sigh of relief)

After 8 months, 1 week, and 2 days Huntley finally slept through the night. (Now if only I could learn to sleep without having to get up and check on her every two hours.)

Change of Heart

The first time we took Huntley fishing this is what happened: She was one unhappy baby and we wondered what we were going to do because fishing is a big part of our lives. Well 8 months have gone by and we decided we would try it again. I think things went a little better and we have a future fisherwoman in the making. Now Chris thinks we need to buy her a flyrod. I'm still debating if it actually would be for Huntley or just a way to get more toys for him. Oh well at least she had a change of heart and likes fish now.

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome home Elder Josh!!! We had a great time at the airport yesterday picking up Josh from his mission to Puerto Rico. Josh sent us all orange Netherland jerseys to wear and we sure stood out in the crowd of welcoming families. Unfortunately the battery died on my camera and all I got were these two pics. Now we get to have a fun filled weekend of Huntley getting to know her Uncle Josh, we can't wait!
