2017-7

Monday Huntley stayed home from school because she wasn't feeling well.
I set her up downstairs with movies and drinks.  Later on I came down to find the gymnastics match of the century going on and now think she was pretty much faking it.
I guess everyone needs a sick day now and then.
Wednesday the wind blew so we had to break out the craft bucket.
 We made play-doh creatures.
That night we had a Valentines dinner at the church.  I caught Mav hiding under the table with Aliza and they were actually being nice to each other for once.  Love must have been in the air.  Speaking of Love, I didn't take any pictures on Valentines but it was still fun.  The night before I had to take minutes at the fire board meeting and Chris and the kids were sneaky and made me cards which totally made my day.
There was no school on Friday and it was actually a beautiful day, so we met the Chandlers at the park.
Most of the ice has melted from the river flooding but there was still enough to have some fun on.
That night we went grocery shopping in Bozeman and took our kids on a great date to the Costco food court.  We like to go all out around here.
The kids and I spent some time in the toy aisle of target while Chris got his hair cut.  The girls used their own money and bought little live pets.  Pais now spends all of her time on amazon debating which pet she should buy next.
Saturday our adopt-a-fourth-kid Link came to play.  We seriously love him.
Mav's been obsessed with coloring lately and I love seeing his little body sitting up to the table like he's all big.
  •  And we ended the week with a spelling test.  Hunt's teacher hands the words out in advance and if you get 100 on the pre test you don't have to take the actual spelling test.  She's obsessed with passing the pre test because then you get to read the words to the rest of the class during the test.  I love when my children's nerd tendencies shine through.

2017-6

We kicked this week off with Hunt's second ski trip and Chris got to tag along this time.
Unlike me, he knew what he was doing, so while the kids had lessons he got to go play on the big hills.  Some day I'll get there.
They also must have been able to tell he could actually ski and let him ride three to a seat.
 Until the girls ditched him.
Back at home Pais was given a hand me down ski helmet and can't wait for her turn to hit the slopes.
Mav had to get in on the purple helmet action too.
Our little antelope watcher has upped his game and started using binos.
Thursday was a big day at our house, the kids first stick bow came in the mail.
I tried taking a panorama picture of a storm coming down the valley.  It didn't turn out very well but I'm still including the picture because sometimes I still can't believe I actually live here.
Friday morning Mav helped make our weekly granola.  Since this blog is my journal I better include that this was the year we stopped eating cold cereal.  I thought it was going to be the end of the world for the kids but they only complained the first two days and haven't asked about cereal since.  They rock.
Mav was pestering Pais, so she convinced him to climb in Maze's kennel and locked him in.  He loved it and I had a hard time convincing him to come back out.
Sharing is caring.  But since Mav's such a good cuddle buddy who wouldn't want to share with him.
Saturday morning these two jumped in to "help" me with my work out.
And the wind finally died down enough to let us get out and shoot the new bow.
Mav's happily taken over the new role of quiver and fetch it.

Since the kids were loving shooting, I figured I would end my 9 year hiatus and shoot too.
I don't know why I went so long with out shooting and think our summer is going to be known as operation Robin Hood.
We also finished up our preparation for Valentines day.
All the preschool classes are combining so poor Pais had to write out 37 Valentines.
Mav on the other hand just had fun sneaking into and opening the valentines.  Little goober.

2017-5

Pais's school just started doing show and tell.  What does she want to bring?  What any good little Montana girl would bring for show'n'tell, the dead head they found last fall, of course.
 Selfies waiting for the bus.
Tuesday night we came home to a box on the porch from Nini.
Two sets of legos for the birthday boy that entertained all three kiddos for the rest of the night.
We are morning people around our house.
Paisley's class filled their marble jar and were rewarded with a movie at the theater.
Mav was pretty excited about tagging along.
Wednesday we made valentines for activity days.
Nothing beats a game of hop on pop.
Our babysitter went out of town on Friday and I got to fill in.  It was the worst day of this kid's life.
And the best day of mine.
Pais loved helping take care of all the babies, even though her face would beg to differ.
And when I finally let this kid have free reign of everything in the house and we tried to stay out of his way, he got happy too.
 Chubby Bunny.
I have a ton of respect for our babysitter.  We were all wiped out by the end of the day and I'd much rather go to work then do her job everyday.
Saturday morning Mav helped Chris fix the sink.
And was kind enough to add an extra 30 pounds to his workout.
That afternoon we went over to VC to play in the snow.
Pais was pretty upset about the ice rink being a slush rink but at least that meant the playground was more accessible.
She also was the instigator of a major snowball fight and luckily had a house to hide in.

Today was our semi-monthly see how much we can spend at Costco trip.  We got there right when they opened which made checking out super fast.  As a reward we got to spend 20 minutes in the target toy aisle.  Childhood Heaven.
