2016~29

What a week!
The Harvey Hotel was pretty active this week and we started it off with Kristi and her kids.  They all jumped out of the car and into the pool and we didn't leave the yard Monday night.
Tuesday we ventured to Virginia City and the kids had a lot of fun watching all of the old time organs play.
My personal favorite part was watching Scott being extremely thrilled over the fact he could pick the horses nose.
Our next stop was to ride the train.

Choo-Choo!  Or more nose picking is cool too.
After the train we tried our luck at panning for gold.  We weren't very lucky but did find a lot of really pretty rocks.

Everybody was pretty hot after gold panning so we hit up the ice cream shop.
And last of all we unloosed these crazies on the candy store.
Wednesday morning we said good bye to the Nelson's but weren't sad for long because then Ma arrived.

She even brought Kysen who slept out in the yard in a tent which Mav thought was pretty dang cool.
Ma must be pretty lucky too because the Scoop shack was actually open while she was here.
It's never open when we try and go.
Friday we ventured out to the most gorgeous place in the whole valley, Wade Lake.  If I could build a little house on the shore and never leave for the rest of my life I'd be pretty dang happy.

Saturday morning Chris and I actually got to go on a date.
We explored Bear Trap Canyon and if we would have been smart we'd have brought tubes and floated back down the river.  Instead we just walked and sweated.
Ma took the kids back up to VC and they did some more train riding, gold panning, and restaurant exploring.

Things also got pretty exciting in our neck of the woods when we had a wildfire break out.  It's still going and we're crossing our fingers it doesn't burn up our favorite Axolotl lakes.
After Ma went home I took Mav and went for a really long walk to try and undo the damage from all of the ice cream we ate.  Halfway through I got this picture.
Those kids are crazy.
