Picnic Weather

Chris got home yesterday which means hooray for outside adventures!  Today's activity was fishing but since we only caught one lousy fish (who actually tasted really good) it just ended up being a sweet picnic.
Pais was quite proud of this pretty awesome rock creation she made.  It was so fun to watch her searching for really strange looking rocks to pile on top of each other.
Hunt found a dead log wedged between two trees that made for a pretty good bench. She was even nice enough to share it with her sister.
The other day my dad commented on how well my girls get along.  I don't think I have ever realized how they really do get along so well and are always looking out for each other.  They are each others best friend and I hope it always stays that way.

Couins {All Week Long}

Last week Uncle Rob went out of town and since we aren't attached to any house at the moment we got to go up and have a week long cousin sleep over.  It was awesome.
Our two sassy little babies had fun being best friends/duking it out but as long as they were in the tub life was good.
Living with my sister had lots of perks.  Like the fact she doesn't mind cooking dinner and I don't mind cleaning it up.  But one night neither of us wanted to do either so we headed over to IKEA for dinner and let the kids go wild testing everything out.
We spent lots of time playing outside.  The wind always blows at Kristi's house so kite flying was a must.
Sometimes the wind was a little too much and ends up blowing your car into a curb though.
We tried the park once.  Pais found out the hard way the slide was really fast.
I'm a bad mom and was laughing so hard at her faces I couldn't even pick her up.  Luckily she got over the shock of landing on her backside pretty fast and figured out a safer alternative to go down the slide.
And thanks to Russell and Scott I am no longer able to sleep in and can hopefully keep up the habit and start being super productive in the morning!

Thirty

Last week I had a birthday, the big 3-0.  Chris was out of town so we didn't do much but play outside and enjoy the sunshine.  The next night we were able to sit around the fire and eat cake.  I seriously have the best sibling who brought me yummy treats and even fireworks for my cake.  Hooray for a new decade!

Here Fishy Fishy

Our "daddy" week flew by this past week!  Our biggest adventure was finding a lake with melted ice and catching a few fish.
Over the winter and lapse of regular fishing Huntley has now become scared of fishing and Paisley has taken over all reeling in duties.  She is a pro!

Hunt on the other hand needed something to entertain herself with so the two of us built our family out of rocks.
Super entertaining and fun until Pais decided to join in the fun by knocking people over.  Not cool Pais, not cool.
Our daddy week went by way too fast.  Mainly due to Chris and I spending a few days looking for our new home.  We actually found one and now we get to patiently wait for this to be the view from our front porch.
The only good thing about waiting is by the time it's our view the snow will be gone.

Since the new place has a little bit more grass than the old place we spent a lot of time checking out lawnmowers.
The girls are obsessed and if we can figure out how to extend the gas I'm going to have my grass mowed on a daily basis.

Springing into Spring Time

We love that spring is here.  The sunshine, the warm weather, and even the rain.  It's worth getting stuck inside occasionally still so we can jump in puddles.

Preschool Pals Does the Zoo

Yesterday was FREE day at the Hogle Zoo.  Free combined with 60 degree weather meant the zoo really was quite a zoo.  I think we spent longer trying to park then we did in the actual zoo.  As far as animals it was pretty much push your kids to the front of the crowd for a glimpse at the few animals that they actually had.  The zoo being under construction makes it so there isn't very much to see.  The girls were also their usual photographic self's.
At least so were the other children in our preschool group.

Grovecreek is Our New Best Friend

One of my biggest worries about moving into my parents house while searching for our next house was leaving our friends behind.  Hunt is big on playing with friends, all day long, every single day.  Our old neighborhood was perfect for this and there was always somebody to come over and spend the day with us.  I loved it.  She loved it.  Paisley loved it.  The friends loved it. (I think.)  What were we going to do when the afternoon rolled around and we had no friends to play with.

Luckily for us Grovecreek Canyon has come to our rescue.  We took the dogs for a walk up there the other day and I thought we'd be gone for a half hour or so.  I was so wrong.  I practically had to drag the girls off the mountain.  They loved following new trails, searching for the perfect hiking stick, breaking every single piece of ice in the river, and feeling like we were on top of the world while enjoying the view from the water tower.  We've went back several times since and I love that my girls are getting old enough to be in the places I like to be and do the things I like to do. As embarrassing as it is to admit my new goal is to be able to keep up with Huntley hiking by summer.  I never thought I would say that and I love it.
