2016~30

Slacker is the only way we could describe my picture taking this week.
We started Monday night messing around on the basketball court.

And then ended up back on the basketball court on Thursday shucking some corn. Mav prefers to eat it raw.
Chris went on his weekly man date that night and took this pretty sweet pic.  I just wish it would have been him in it instead of my coworker.
Friday was family fun day and we hiked to Palisade Falls.

We hit up Costco were the girls tried to convince me to buy this couch.  I agreed but the bank account did not.
Saturday the Chandlers got to spend the day and we had a picnic out in the tent.  That was the only use we got out of the tent because every time we tried sleeping in it the stinking wind blew it over.
And tonight we went for a family walk up the road.  Two kids on bikes, one in nothing but a diaper, a dog, and a cat; yep, we're cool like that.

2016~29

What a week!
The Harvey Hotel was pretty active this week and we started it off with Kristi and her kids.  They all jumped out of the car and into the pool and we didn't leave the yard Monday night.
Tuesday we ventured to Virginia City and the kids had a lot of fun watching all of the old time organs play.
My personal favorite part was watching Scott being extremely thrilled over the fact he could pick the horses nose.
Our next stop was to ride the train.

Choo-Choo!  Or more nose picking is cool too.
After the train we tried our luck at panning for gold.  We weren't very lucky but did find a lot of really pretty rocks.

Everybody was pretty hot after gold panning so we hit up the ice cream shop.
And last of all we unloosed these crazies on the candy store.
Wednesday morning we said good bye to the Nelson's but weren't sad for long because then Ma arrived.

She even brought Kysen who slept out in the yard in a tent which Mav thought was pretty dang cool.
Ma must be pretty lucky too because the Scoop shack was actually open while she was here.
It's never open when we try and go.
Friday we ventured out to the most gorgeous place in the whole valley, Wade Lake.  If I could build a little house on the shore and never leave for the rest of my life I'd be pretty dang happy.

Saturday morning Chris and I actually got to go on a date.
We explored Bear Trap Canyon and if we would have been smart we'd have brought tubes and floated back down the river.  Instead we just walked and sweated.
Ma took the kids back up to VC and they did some more train riding, gold panning, and restaurant exploring.

Things also got pretty exciting in our neck of the woods when we had a wildfire break out.  It's still going and we're crossing our fingers it doesn't burn up our favorite Axolotl lakes.
After Ma went home I took Mav and went for a really long walk to try and undo the damage from all of the ice cream we ate.  Halfway through I got this picture.
Those kids are crazy.

2016~28

Monday morning the town deer stole my parking spot at work.  They then acted annoyed and refused to move when I took the next one down.  The nerve.
Mav was a filthy mess that night but I wasn't up to giving him a full on bath.  I stuck him in the sink were he entertained himself forever with that little measuring cup.  The highlight being when he figured out he could pee in it.  Boys.
Tuesday we had a cold front come through and guess what, snow in July, ugh.
Luckily it was gone by Wednesday and we were able to go down and wade in the river.

Friday night we had plans to go bbq at the lake but thunder storms cancelled those plans out.  We had to settle for icecream at sugar high instead.
Saturday was the air fair where I subjected Maverick to five million pictures around various planes and pilots.  Chris should have know better when he suggested this name and that I would take the whole top gun thing and run with it for the next 18 years.  Mav also won the ping pong ball drop and now has his own Ennis airport t-shirt that will fit him in maybe 10 years.

After walking around on the runway for a couple hours we were all hot so ice cream at Sugar High was a must again.  Mav doesn't look impressed but I think that's more to do with the manpri's behind him.
Chris was in charge of nursery today and Mav was the only kid so they played a game called let's lay on the floor and take a nap.  Mav lost.
