Fall is my favorite time to go to Yellowstone. The crowds are gone, the air smells extra crisp, and if you get lucky you can even hear some elk screaming. One of the roads we usually drive was closed so we went to a section of the park we'd never been to before and I loved it. Fall isn't as colorful in Montana as it is in Utah and the lack of leaves was making me a little homesick. The section we went to made me feel like I was driving the back roads of Strawberry reservoir and I felt at home, other than there was buffalo everywhere. Nature is good for the soul.
