Rodeo Time!

I've been waiting all summer to take Huntley to a rodeo but it's hard when you live on a mounatin. The nearest town is an hour away and rodeos don't start until after bedtime. I figured if we took her she whould either sleep through the whole thing or be in a bad mood because she wanted to sleep. So rodeos have come and went and we've missed them all.
Last weeked was the Cow Country Rodeo in Manilla and Chris had to sit with the ambulance. I decided to not care about bedtime and tag along with him. Huntley then sat like this throughout the whole rodeo and kept yelling "dog" at everything she saw. Obviously we need to work on animal names but I think she had a pretty good time.

Auntie April's Visit

Auntie April and Matt came and visited this past week and even though they only left a few hours ago I'm missing them like crazy. April pretty much took over Huntley for the week and I got a vacation and it was wonderful! Thank you so much! Besides that Chris had the week off too so we were able to get out and do a lot of fun stuff. So prepare yourself for a whole bunch of pictures of all the fun we had. We miss you April!

Huntley finally got her first ride on her daddy's boat. She did great the first mile, got annoyed the next 5, and finally fell asleep for the last 2. Overall she did okay for her first time down the river. We took a drive up to Spirit Lake and saw a mama moose and her baby hanging out on the side of the road.

Chris caught some fish on a little stream. Huntley did not like the fish!

We were able to go camping for a night. Here we are enjoying the campfire, little did we know what was to come that night.

This evil grin should have given us a clue. Huntley woke up every 20 minutes the entire night. She likes to crawl in her sleep and kept crawling into the wall which is a whole lot harder than the side of her crib at home. We only lasted one night of camping.

Our friend Ryan took us out on his boat so April and Matt could try out their wakeboarding skills.

Last but not least we hiked Leidy Peak and went sledding. Leidy Peak is definitley my favorite place on the whole mountain. The only thing that would make it better was if there was no such thing as mosquitos. I really hate those dang bugs!

Fireworks, Fishing, & Piggies!!!

Can I just say how frustrating life is without internet!!! I wish I was posting saying that we've just been so busy having lots of fun that I haven't been able to post but due to the fact it has rained everyday but three in the last month that is not the case. I just haven't been able to blog because our internet is still not working. Luckily we came to visit grandma and I get to use her internet to show some pictures of when it hasn't been raining. Of course we had a wonderful 4th of July full of car shows, scout breakfasts, and last but not least fireworks. We might live in the middle of nowhere but as you can see from the look on Huntley's face we have the best fireworks I've ever seen. Although this pic was taken before the fireworks started, she wasn't so thrilled about the loud noises.
We had a lot of fun helping out with the car show at the resort. Huntley was quite entertained by her new ability to chew. It's amazing what teeth can do.
Grandma and Grandpa came and took us fishing at East Park. Huntley was a little confused at first and kept trying to eat the bait.
Eventually she figured out how to reel in the line, unfortunately it was never at the right time.
And last but not least we were finally able to have some pretty hair do's. Hooray for no longer being mistaken as a boy!!!

Blog Deprived

Lately our internet has not been working. The resort has wireless that we can pick up at our house, yeah for free internet, other than the fact sometimes it doesn't work and there is nothing we can do. So I've been home from our trip to California for over a week now and there has been no internet!!! Everyday I check multiple times and today it just so happened to work. Hooray I can finally post. Although now that I can I don't know what to post about, do I write about Huntley's first time in the pool, her 2 new teeth, the fact that she doesn't like binkies anymore, or the fact that using the word mommy is overrated and she has nicknamed me dude. Or do I write about my really embaressing plane ride, how I'm really missing sunny California and really really not enjoying the rain. Or do I write about Chris and how he sold our truck and now all we have is an old beater that gets a whopping 8 miles to the gallon. What to do. What to do. Now that I think about it I'm actually going to use this time of actually having internet to read other blogs. Chris says I'm mean when I'm blog deprived so I'll think aobut it and get back with you later on when I decide what to finally write about. Oh how I've missed life without internet!

Copycat Post

Not a whole lot has been going on lately other than enjoying the warm weather. So since I saw Amber's post on things to look forward to I had to do the same. We are starting summer off with a bang and I can't wait for the next few weeks.
  1. Trip to Grandma's house in Pleasant Grove
  2. Girls Camp
  3. Trip to Grandma's house in CALIFORNIA!!!

Huntlely and I get to fly out to Monterey for a week and I'm so excited!!! Wish me luck on the flight all alone with an 8 month old, I feel so brave.

To D.I. or not to D.I.

Spring cleaning has arrived. I love going through my house and getting rid of all of the junk that I have accumulated. Yesterday Chris had the day off and we were both feeling ambicious so we decided to tackle our spare bedroom. As we are going through stuff I found a pair of shorts that Chris has had for as long as I've known him. They are a really nice pair of shorts, apparently really expensive, but here's the catch. How many times have I seen him wear these shorts-not once! Without even thinking I immediately put them in the D.I. pile and then we had the following conversation:

Chris (with much feeling): What are you doing those shorts are expensive!!!
Jess: Good someone will like them.
Chris: You can't give those away they were expensive!!!
Jess: You've never worn these shorts in 6 years I'm giving them away.

At this point Chris immediately puts the shorts on, wears them the rest of the day, and comments numerous times on how great they are.

So now the hard part. Will he ever wear these shorts again since they are his favorite? Do I put them back in the drawer or do I secretly give them away to the D.I.?

Ride em' Cowboy

Now that Huntley is getting older she is using Penelope for more than a pillow these days. Hold on tight little lady!
