Reactions

I have weird reactions that occur after pregnancy. With Huntley I was working at the front desk of the lodge which is right next to the restaurant. I had a hard time smelling all of the food but the worst was the buffalo wings. They sent me running for the bathroom every time. Even after I had Huntley for the next year whenever I smelled them it made me sick.

With Paisley I spent the first trimester trying to sleep through morning sickness while Huntley watched movies next to me on the bed. Her movie of choice was Shrek and now I can't watch Shrek without getting really queasy.

Apparently my pregnancy reactions also had an effect on Hunt as well. The other day we were watching Mulan for the first time. She was cracking up at the dragon and I responded by commenting on how the dragon was really funny. Huntley turned to look at me, rolled her eyes, and said "that's not a dragon, it's donkey". Now I feel bad that morning sickness has messed up my childs view of mythical creatures.

Little Momma

Poor Pais is dealing with the brunt of the illness at our house. It makes for long days and nights with a little girl who doesn't feel good and just wants to be held. It also makes things really dull for her big sister who gets stuck in front of the TV all day. I came up with a brilliant solution and told Huntley to find her baby because it was sick and she needed to help it feel better. This was her idea of care.

Who knew swimming could cure ear infections. Never would have thought of that.

Huntley is really good at taking care of everyone. She's the number one "fetch it" and always runs to go get tissues, binkies, blankies, and booger suckers. Last night she was sleeping in our bed while Chris and I took shifts taking care of Paisley during the night. I didn't feel very well and went into go to sleep and was a tad bit emotional. It must have woke her up because soon I hear a quiet little voice say "Jess, come here I hold you." It made me feel better. Then it really made me feel better when 45 minutes later she told me she couldn't hold me anymore because her arms were cold. I love my little momma.

Sickies

It's official we are experiencing our first colds of the season. Not much to say about that only hoping that this can be a one time deal.

Big

My girls are getting big, real big.

The other day we were at church and Huntley went to use the drinking fountain and didn't even use the stool. When did she get tall enough not to need a little boost?!?!

Paisley has also been a part of us for 4 whole months now. During this time she's managed to turn from an itty bitty baby to this chubby little thing with major arm rolls.

Her other favorite past time besides eating would be drooling. The kid is worse than all three of our dogs combined and I now understand why they sell baby outfits with bibs when obviously they are too young to eat.

How do I feel about all this growing up going on?

My sentiments exactly Pais.

Miss Molly

One of Huntley's favorite things in California was Molly. Molly is a teeny tiny puppy that Hunt had to have with her at all times. The poor dog was probably so glad when we left but Huntley on the other hand misses her little friend like crazy. She asks to go play with her constantly and doesn't understand we can't just drive over there real quick. Definitely the downside of driving at night. Yesterday my sis-in-law, April sent me these pics and it made me happy sad. You know the feeling where you love them but hate that you can't have moments like this all of the time. I'm with Hunt and wish we could just go visit Molly whenever we wanted!

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome 2012! Last year we had a year full of new things, new jobs, new house, new baby. It was quite the exciting year so this year we are happy to have our new things be a little low key. To start the year off Huntley is a new sunbeam and she wears her little sunbeam crown quite well.

California Adventures: Final Edition

So long, farewell, to pretty blue sky
We're home, it's sad, I can not tell a lie

At least we have nice weather in Utah.

Although I'm not so sure how I feel about nice weather in January.

Shouldn't there be snow by now?!?!
