the party's over

We have finally finished our birthday celebrations for the month.  I love having both girls have their birthdays so close together so we can have one big party for a couple weeks.  On Hunt's actual birthday we got to go shopping and to McDonalds with Ma.  The next week we had another fun filled day on Pais's actual birthday.  Auntie Vivian sent us a card with instructions to do something fun so we went to Kangaroo Zoo and had a blast.  Hunt was a total crazy person and Pais was pretty drenched entertained by the drinking fountain.  Now everyday since we get requests to go to Donald's or the Kangaroo place.  Luckily last Friday was my half birthday.  No I'm not that big of a nerd that I actually keep track and celebrate such things but I got an e-mail from Rubio's wishing me a happy half birthday and to have a free burrito on them.  No that's not exactly what you would think of as a fun place to go but they do have a pretty good salsa bar that my girls get pretty excited about.  And since it was my half birthday I'll admit I was pretty excited about not having to make dinner so we celebrated..
Unfortunately this little miss spent the whole time passed out dead to the world in my arms and we didn't get to to witness the panting dog that is Paisley when eating salsa that is way too hot but she just loves so much.
On the other hand it was pretty nice to have what seemed like one-on-one time with big sis.  When I'm single moming life the three of us are pretty much together at all times (really all times since they refuse to sleep in their beds!) and Hunt really misses having her space.  She was so talkative and excited the entire time and let me sit back and hold Pais while she took care of all refills and anything else I needed.  I hate that the years are flying by and my girls are getting older but I love seeing the good little people they are turning into.

Christine got Married!!!

Here's the good news, one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world met her sweetheart and is getting married.  The bad news was he's from Florida and she chose there to get married.  Luckily my other bestest friend really wanted to surprise Christine and show up to her wedding and brought me along.

So after a fun filled Saturday night at Christine's reception, Melissa and I hopped on a plane early Sunday morning and flew across the country.
We only had one day in Orlando to actually do stuff so we crammed stuff in and made the most of it. We woke up at 5:30 (3:30 Utah time!!!!) and drove out to New Smyrna beach.  I knew that people say the Atlantic is warmer than the Pacific but I wasn't expecting that warm. It was awesome and made me wonder if we came to this beach if my kids would actually like it.
Next we drove back to Orlando and said Hello to Shamu. (Not really but who remembers any other whales names besides Shamu)
Then we spent the rest of the night hanging out with Christine's siblings and waiting for her to come home.  She actually wasn't that surprised to see us but Eileen on the other hand was and looked at us like we were ghosts the whole time we were there.
This morning we got to head over to the Orlando temple and attend Christine's sealing.  It was beautiful and twenty years down the road I'm going to highly recommend my girls get married in a non Utah temple on a weekday.  You have the place to yourself and get extra special service.
These two are so stinking cute together!
Although not as cute as the three amigos. Also I'm not pregnant Melissa just took me to every restaurant she had been missing back East and I ordered cookies on the side with everything. I figured how much damage could I do in two days.  Apparently this picture is evidence I could do a lot.
In the meantime the girlies stayed home and I missed them like crazy.  Thanks to Ma, Josh, Kenzie, and Mera I don't think they even noticed I was gone.

Our Last Weekend

The last weekend Chris was home we had a birthday celebration a little early for two girls.  They woke up Saturday morning to scooters and donuts and couldn't have been happier.
We took them to their favorite place to play, the lake, and they had a blast with cousins and trying to catch fish with grandpa. Unfortunately they only succeeded at catching a jogging stroller.
On our last day with Chris we were able to take our scooters to the park and play.   It was a good end to the past few months of spending so much family time together.  I really hate that we need an income to survive because I'd much rather spend my days playing with my family all day every day.  Maybe I can talk Chris into buying a ranch and we can live off the land and spend all of our time together :)

Hunt's first day of Preschool {2013}

Huntley started preschool a few weeks ago.  When she was born I felt so bad for her and having a birthday that made her miss the kindergarten deadline by three days and how awful that would be to have to wait to send her.  Now I wonder what I was thinking.  I can't imagine sending her off to a big school everyday.  She's still too little and I'm not ready to let go of my control on her little life yet.  I'm much happier having her go two days a week to our neighborhood joy school.  And I think she's pretty happy about that too.
I also think this little lady enjoys her one on one time during the week too.  Although it was much more fun when dad was around. I just make her do chores.
She makes a cute Cinderella.

Traveling

Did I mention Chris got a job?  A nice one.  That actually has benefits, pays well, and has all sorts of perks.  We've never had one of those kind of jobs before so it's exciting stuff.  The downside is it's not a normal 8-5 job but a 14 days on 7 days off kind of job.  I'm stating to think Chris can't handle being like a regular person and has to find the weirdest jobs out there.  At least this time we knowh is schedule a year in advance so I think that will be easier to deal with.

Anyways since he got this new job he also had to go get a North Dakota drivers license.  Instead of sending him up early and missing him "too much!!!" we decided to take a little road trip and check out his new home away from home.  So we spent seven days in the car and got to watch Hunt manage some pretty rad sleeping positions.
We drove past Home on the Range.  The skies weren't cloudy at all but I didn't see any deer or antelope playing.

We drove past acres upon acres of fields of sunflowers.  It was gorgeous and made me wish I had a small bit of photography skill to capture how beautiful it was.
We spent a lot more time than we planned in the state of North Dakota and discovered there wasn't much to do.  Luckily railroad tracks make for cheap entertainment.
As well as swimming in the Missouri River.
And checking out the local elementary schools.
Finally we were able to head West and since our trip was taking longer than planned we figured why not go all out and drive down through Yellowstone while we were in the area.
I thought the girls would love seeing all the animals but was pleasantly surprised by how excited they were to see all the weird geological features.  That ended up being a good thing since the only thing we saw was an elk sitting in a hot spring.
I also discovered seven days living in hotel rooms is kind of a long time and made me really miss bed time.  But when I woke up in the morning and was able to see my girls cuddled up together that kind of made me glad our trip lasted a lot longer than expected.
