2013 Thankful {day6}

I'm thankful for these two crazy girls.  This morning we started the day out with them acting like ghosts at the breakfast table.  Afterwards they were super awesome about helping me clean their room and run all of our errands.  In return I rewarded them with spending the afternoon making cookies.  Bed time was a disaster and they just barely fell asleep but all in all today was a great day.  Nothing special but I am so thankful it's my life and that I get to share it with them.

Last Week

Last Monday I finally had surgery to get my knee fixed.  It has been a long 4 months!  My surgery went awesome besides an extremely morbid anesthesiologist who made sure I knew all of the risks of everything (if Chris wasn't there I probably would have left and just been a cripple the rest of my life!) and the fact my tongue is still numb one week later (is that a normal side effect of surgery?).

The downside of having surgery was it left me hanging out in the recliner the week of Halloween.  Luckily Chris stepped up to the plate and got to be the one in charge of the celebrations of his least favorite holiday.  He started things off by escorting two lovely princesses to a Halloween carnival and let them eat all the sugar they wanted.

 The threesome also spent a lot of time enjoying the nice weather and playing in the leaves.  (The time outdoors may or may not have been due to the fact pain pills make me a not so nice person.)

Last but not least they had fun on "real" Halloween and went trick-or-treating down town.  The girls got these awesome masks that they loved wearing but were unfortunately destroyed in a tub incident you can be glad there aren't pictures of.

2013 Thankful {day 5}

We are thankful for Ma school (and Ma too)!!!!

A year ago my mom started working with Huntley once a week and it has been a huge life saver to me.  School and learning always came easy to me so to have a child that struggles with learning was a really frustrating experience. My mom has been Huntley's biggest supporter and always praises her for every little accomplishment and reminds me not to compare her to everyone else. I love being able to let Hunt have a different teacher that is definitely a lot more fun than me and get to enjoy learning.  Plus Ma always sends home the funnest games that make school much more fun at our house too.  

2013 Thankful {day 4}

I am extremely thankful for my Grandpa!!!  

Ever since we bought our house he has always been willing to help us with all of the projects we've had going on.  A few months ago I was able to trade helping my old work out with an audit for cabinets so we were able to remodel our kitchen.  Unfortunately but fortunately Chris ended up getting his new job and left me for two months with three cabinets installed and half a sink. Luckily Grandpa helped out and remodeled our kitchen into the most amazing, gorgeous, wonderful room in our house.  

I love having him spend time with us and that the girls have such a good relationship with him.  A few months ago Huntley wouldn't even make eye contact with him and today the two of them spent the afternoon with him teaching her how to grout tile.  I am so grateful for all of the help he gives us and know I will never be able to repay him. He is one of the most amazing people I know and I'm so glad I have had the opportunity to spend so much time with him lately.

2013 Thankful {day 3}

I'm thankful for bedtime. 

While Chris was home I got a week long break from the hard part of mommyhood.  He took care of diapers, feeding, bathing, and all the not fun parts of being a mom while I sat around and cuddled and watched movies with the girls.  

Today he headed back to work and I got 100% of parenting duties and I was exhausted.  Luckily Pais took a long nap and Hunt entertained herself with a bucket of Halloween candy and Netflix while I slept too.  

Now that tonight is here and yes the girls were really good but I'm glad bedtime is here and I can have my turn on the couch with what's left of the Halloween candy and Netflix.

2013 Thankful {Day 2}

 I'm thankful for warm autumn nights that we can spend sitting outside on the porch.

 I'm thankful pumpkins improvise for a pretty good pillow.

 I'm thankful we were able to be outside and spend the last few minutes with Chris before he heads off to work again.

 I'm really really really thankful I no longer have to wear a knee brace!

2013 Thankful {Day 1}

It's that time of the year again where I get to post every single day about all the things I am thankful for.  I just asked my family what I should post for the first day, Chris said drugs, they've helped me survive the past week and are the reason I had to ask for help thinking of things I am thankful for, Pais said popcorn, she's currently laying on the floor watching a movie eating popcorn, and Hunt said family, and she's exactly right.  I am thankful for so many things which I'll have plenty of posts about in the days to come but for now I'm just going to enjoy my family and popcorn before I get too loopy.
