The day we found out Huntley would be Huntley instead of Wyatt Earp my mom happened to be in Disneyland. I am extremely greatful for the invention of cell phones so I could call and let her know that she was going to have a granddaughter. Of course she was thrilled and would do what any soon to be grandma would do and went to the closest gift shop and bought her a cute little Minnie Mouse dress. I'm also greatful Disney has their sizes messed up and size 3T Huntley now finally fits into the size 12 months Minnie Dress. So now when we have a stubborn little girl who again refused to be a pumpkin princess or a bee we were able to pull out the Minnie dress and she was thrilled to put it on.
Happy Halloween!

No Treats for Huntley
Last night was our ward Trunk-or-Treat and Huntley was supposed to be a gorgeous pumpkin princess.
When we tried to get her in her costume we discovered she didn't want to be a pumpkin princess which left us scrambling to find a costume at the last minute and what better to use than duck tape of course.
Originally I'd bought black pants and a shirt to wear under her costume so we figured three stripes of yellow duck tape and voila she's a bee.
Apparently having your parents try and wrap duck tape around you is traumatic so we ended up enjoying cereal rather than giving out the $20 worth of candy I had bought. Now we are extra prepared for the trick'or'treaters that don't come to our house and I'll probably be able to document myself growing larger each week.

Pumpkins

I just wish my pumpkin pictures included this as my pumpkin patch. I'd say someday but I don't think fireman make that kind of money.
Instead I'll just be glad there are crazy people like this so someday Chris will get a job!Sunday, October 10, 2010
Food Storage
The past month we've been spending a lot of time canning, freezing, drying to get ready for the winter. Poor Chris isn't a big fan of celebrating "corn day" or substitue any fruit or vegetable of your choice and decided we'd spend this weekend doing "food storage" his style.

2
It's been 2 whole months since I last wrote on this thing! In honor of those 2 months I'm devoting a post to the number 2 and the best way to start it off would be by showing this little lady who turned 2 years old!
In honor of Huntley's birthday we had 2 special visitors spend 2 hours on a plane to come celebrate with us. We love when they come to stay and wish it would happen more often.
Since our Xterra was stolen Chris bought this huge 250 (that I'm still way too scared to drive) and now we've been able to start using our camper again. We've went camping twice to Hoop Lake in search of the elusive moose.
Yes mud is still coming out of Chris's ears!

For Real!!!
This is our neighborhood:
You can imagine the pitty party I've been throwing for myself today, yeah it was big. Not necessarily for the car but the items in the car, Huntley's car seat, Chris's textbooks, fishing rods, and our video camera that I've neglected uploading the videos off of from Huntley's first steps on. Right at the moment I was feeling most sorry for myself a coworker came to my office. I immediatley thought of the trial he has been dealing with of the recent loss of his daughter and realized my simple trial of a stolen car really wasn't all that bad. I may be carless and can't watch videos of Huntley as a baby but at least I still can watch Huntley in person.

Flaming Gorge Favorites
- Chris-watching Crazy old men make stoves out of stumps and cooking things on them.
- Jess-fishing Hacking Lake (my favorite place in the whole wide world!!!)
- Huntley-the Outhouse. Disgusting yes but true. She loved going in there, looking down the hole, and declaring "Poop" in the loudest voice she could muster.
