Huntley at HeeHaw's

Our neighbor Melanie, who we absolutely love, had a work party at Hee Haw's this week and lucky us she invited us along. We went on a hay ride were they threw candy at us. Rode around in barrell's being pulled by a tractor. Had fun in a petting zoo where Huntley thought a goat was the greatest thing in the world (hint hint Auntie April for your next pet!) Last but not least we even picked out a pumpkin. And to think Huntley almost missed this whole adventure of fun. This video has been cracking me and Chris up this week so I thought I'd share. Enjoy!

Brrr....It's cold out there!!!

This is Josh. Josh is FREEZING!!! What you can't tell in this picture is the fact Josh has on four shirts and a poncho to keep warm. I guess living in Puerto Rico for the past two years does have it's downside because it's really not that cold yetAlthough it is cold enough Huntley can't do this anymore. She sure loved that tomato patch.

A letter from Huntley

Dear Grandpa, Nini, and Auntie April,
Thank you for letting me come visit this month. It was the best vacation of my life. I loved my new toys and playing with Molly, Abby, and Belle! Life is so boring without them. Thank you for making my parents leave so I could have alone time with you. Thank you for my new wardrobe and making sure I'll be the most stylish little girl in all of Utah. Thank you for giving me baths, really good food, and putting me to sleep at night. Thanks for taking my daddy to shoot things and giving my mommy a really long break. Thanks for taking me to socko games, even though I didn't really watch I loved cheering Auntie April on. Thanks for taking me to Marine world and showing me the big whale. Thanks for the ride in the shopping cart and lots of shopping trips. Most of all thanks for being the best granparents and Auntie in the whole world!!! I love you so much and miss you even more.
Love, Huntley

Likes and Dislikes

The past week has been an experiment to figure out what Huntley likes and dislikes. The first like would be catching fish at the aquarium. They were rubber fish but man they were still tricky to catch.
Next we have chasing pigeons. They sure can be quick though, we'll have to practice on that one.
Huntley also likes staring at jellyfish. Who could blame her, they are pretty fascinating.
She also has a renewed love of swings. When she was a brand new baby we would go in cycles of liking her swing. I guess the same goes as she gets older.
The beach is another priority on Huntley's list of love. She can't get enough of burying herself in the sand. Oh and if you'd like, she'd be happy to bury you too.
She also loves her mommy. (yes I'm a dork but I liked this picture!!!)
Last but not least she likes to take walks on the beach with her daddy. This walking thing sure makes life fun.
Now on to the dislikes. Huntley really did not like the ocean. The first wave was a little shocking. I don't blame her because the frigidness of the water was a little shocking to me as well, but when the second wave came clear up to her belly, that was definitely too much!
Huntley also dislikes the fact that there are so many things to do in a day and not enough energy in her little body to do them all. Then again nap time is right up there on my list of likes.

Time to Par-tay!!!

Q: What do you do when you suddenly find yourself jobless, temporarily homeless, and without any commitments in the near future?

A: You go on vacation of course!!! Luckily for us our family lives in beautiful Monterey where we'll have this view everyday for the next three weeks.Ever since we arrived life has been one big party. First of all we had a belated birthday party for Huntley complete with party hats and a cake fight.

Huntley loves her new princess car. Although she doesn't really like to ride it but runs around the house pushing it. She looks just like a little old lady with a shopping cart!

Next we had Nick and Misty's beach wedding. Of course it had to be on the only non sunny day we've had so far. The fog was thick enough that it felt like you were sitting in water. Not only that but when Chris and I arrived early to put some finishing touches on the chairs this is what we saw:
The chairs for the wedding on the right and a bunch of high school students having a huge jump rope competition on the left. I was freaking out and feeling really bad for poor Misty but luckily by the time the wedding started they had cleared out.

This was our view of Huntley the whole night. I didn't realize how much of a social butterfly she was until I watched her walking around and talking to everyone the whole night. She had more pictures taken of her than the bride, what can I say she was definitley adorable in her little wedding dress and ruby red slippers.

Our Last Day on the Mountain

Isn't it funny how life can change in a week!!! I can't believe only a week ago I was enjoying a relaxing Sunday on my mountain and now one week later it's completely turned 360 on me. Now I'm living back in the city, a poor college student, and really close to my mom. She likes to joke that we had to have something pretty drastic happen to us for that to happen. Yeah she jokes about it but it is the truth. I definitley never would have planned this for my life so this past week has really been a strength to my testimony that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me.

As I've reflected on everything that has happened this past week I'm positive for the future. Although I'm really going to miss life on the mountain I'm trying to focus on the new journey our lives can take. A week ago I figured I'd be living on the mountain at least for another 5 years but now life is an open book. I definitley am the type of person who likes to have every part of life planned out down to the last detail but I guess I'm supposed to learn that no matter how much I want to control things I can't always do it. So now I've got my seat belt buckled and I'll just hold on for the ride.

A year ago Today

This was me exactly one year ago: I was working on meeting her:
Although technically Huntley's birthday isn't until tomorrow, I still think of today as the day she joined our family and I'm so glad she did. I love you Huntley and can't wait to celebrate one whole year with you!
