Pussycat

Bright and early this morning Huntley woke us up. She has a new hobby and didn't want to waste the day sleeping in. After trying to ignore her we finally gave in and got up. What is her new hobby you might ask? Well it's trapping of course, what two month old wouldn't want to get up at the crack of dawn and check their traps. Lucky for her she even caught her first kitty. Now most kids would want their kitty as a pet, but not Huntley she would rather have one as a rug. She sure takes after her dad.

Back to Work

I survived my first week back at work. Ever since Huntley was born I have been dreading this week. Luckily it wasn't as bad as I had been anticipating. During the winter Chris and I have our schedules so that one of us will be able to stay home with Huntley at all times but this weekend Chris had trips so I needed to find a babysitter. Luckily my mom was willing to come stay, with her which helped a ton. I didn't have to cry as much but let me tell you there have been a lot of tears shed over this matter. I'd much rather be a stay at home mom but since I'm the one with the benefits it wasn't going to be possible. Fortunately I have a great place to work. I'd planned on Huntley having to have bottles while I was gone but I have the best boss. Since I live right next to my work, my mom was able to bring her up every time she was hungry and my boss would cover my position. So now I get to see my little girl all day long while I'm working. Since winter is coming things also slow down a lot and there isn't as many hours. I was asked if it would be all right if I cut back on my hours, of course!!! So now I'm only going to have to work about 16 hours a week. I'm so glad everything has worked out so well and I'll pretty much still get to be with Huntley all of the time. Plus it's only a few more years until Chris is done with school and I can become a full time mommy!

California

We've been back from California for over a week now but since I started work I'm just barely finding time to post some pictures. We had a blast and now we are really missing Chris's family. I wish we lived closer!
This is Scott's hunting jeep. Linda and I took it to get new tires. We got some pretty wierd looks but it was fun.
Chris and Poppy enjoying April's tennis match. Chris was doing a great impression of Stevie Wonder with Poppy's glasses.

Of course Chris found time to go shoot something while we there and we had to take Huntley's first picture with an animal. Now I'm the lucky one that is going to have this beautiful pig on my wall. Luckily it takes around nine months for the taxidermist to finish it, hopefully I'll get lucky and something will happen to it.

Huntley with her Auntie April, notice the awesome shoes April bought her.

We also were able to take her to the beach for the first time. She was pretty good and I can't wait until she is old enought to actually play and enjoy it. Instead Chris, April, and I played in the tide pools while Linda held Huntley.

Our first family picture on the beach. I can't believe how big she is getting, time sure flies by fast.

I love fall!

Brrrr!!! It is now cold. Since we've been in California for the past week we missed the change from the nice warm fall we were having to the it's now officially fall weather. Not that I mind because I love all of the fun fall brings. It was a little shocking though to leave our house in shorts and come back to snow. Oh, well at least we can now start having cozy fires and hot chocolate. I am also so excited to celebrate all of the fun holidays with Huntley. I didn't realize how much more exciting this time of year would be now that I have her to celebrate with. Bring on the pumpkins, leaves, and trick or treats!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Wow, it has been forever since I last posted something! Not a whole lot has been happening in our lives, just the basic day to day things. We did fly to California today to spend a week with Chris's family. I've been really nervous about taking Huntley on the plane. The whole hour before we boarded she screamed. Everyone in the terminal was giving us dirty looks and probably thinking this is going to be the worst flight ever. She was so bad the ladies that were in charge of boarding came and asked us where we were sitting, in the middle, and could they please change our seats. Then they politely said it was okay if we were the last ones on the plane. I was about to have a nervous break down and was ready to change my mind and drive instead, then a miracle happened. We boarded the plane and she immediately fell asleep and slept the whole flight. It was wonderful, other than the fact we were the last seats, right next to the restroom. You would think an hour and a half flight you could hold it but that's not the case. There was constantly someone in the bathroom. At least we survived and now we can enjoy our vacation. I promise we do have pictures where she is not screaming.
